The National Academy of Opticianry "The Academy" is an international organization dedicated solely to education and training for ALL opticians.
Company Profile
Founded in 1963, the Academy offers opticianry education and training in a variety of formats. We cover all aspects of education and training from career preparation (internationally known as the Ophthalmic Career Progression Program), certification and licensing exam preparation and continuing education for beginning through advanced level opticians.

The NAO Celebrates our 50th Anniversary with a Full Weekend of Education for $50. "Providing quality education to all opticians" has been NAO's commitment for over 50 years. So what better way to celebrate our 50th Anniversary than to offer a full weekend of classroom continuing education courses to our membership for just $50! Members' $50 registration fee* will include a themed lunch on Saturday, October 19 as well as NAO's Awards Ceremony, door prizes, giveaway's, and 'goodie bags'. And this news is just in! The Orlando Educational Seminar will also be the site for a 6 hour ABO Certification Exam Review Course and a 6 hour NCLE Certification Exam Review Course! These events will be presented as a web conference in Orlando, across the Country and (in fact) the World! This is just in time to prepare for the Certification Exams coming up within a few days in November! The cost? That's right... members pay just $50. All courses, including the ABO and NCLE Review Courses on October 19 and October 20 will be delivered by some of the profession's most respected and knowledgeable speakers: TRACK ONE: Saturday, October 19: William (Bill) Underwood, M.A., ABOM, FNAO: Florida Required Courses Lunch with NAO's Incoming President and Keynote Speaker, Thomas (Tom) Zizka, on "Knowing Your Core Values - What is your Focus?" *Participation in the Exam Review Courses does not guarantee successful completion of the Certification Exams but are meant to be a useful tool for Exam preparation. *Members of the Academy are invited to enjoy the $50 seminar registration fee when registering between now and September 1. After September 1 the registration fee is $100. If attending as a 'walk-up' the registration fee is $150. |
